Obituary
Norma M. Parente, 86, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, in UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. A daughter of the late Alfred and Clara Tintori Lazzari, she was born in Monessen on March 15, 1928. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, she was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and the BON card club. Norma retired after many years as a telephone operator for the former Bell Telephone Co. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Kim Parente of Belle Vernon; four grandchildren, Jessica and Jeffrey Parente of Pittsburgh and Justin and Journey Parente of Belle Vernon; one brother and sister-in-law, Rio and Jeanne Lazzari of Belle Vernon; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Parente Sr. on May 16, 1999; a daughter, Leslie Ann Parente on Jan. 3, 2014; a sister, Janet Skekel; and two brothers, Jordan and Eugene Lazzari. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 724-929-5300, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon.
